Houston, we have a beta!

Last week I took a 3-day solo business retreat to work on my upcoming course called VA Essentials: Building Your Biz! If you missed the post about how the retreat went, you can catch it here!

Anyway, I have been diligently working on course content ever since the retreat and have drafted another two modules and have the next two slated for this weekend! I can’t even begin to tell you how thrilling it is to finally see this idea coming to fruition.

See, a little over a year ago when I was getting ready to go on vacation to Mexico (yes, this was the vacation that inspired my move!) I got the idea to create a course to teach other women how to launch careers as Virtual Assistants. I’d been successfully working as one myself and was so sad to see all the Facebook statuses my friends were posting about hating their jobs, not being able to find jobs, not feeling like their degree was worth the money, picking up side hustles just to pay the bills, the list goes ON.

And then I got sick. Like, really sick. I couldn’t get out of bed for almost a month and was just toooo funky to function. When I finally became human again – it turned out one of my past clients had just launched this AMAZING course teaching women how to become Virtual Assistants.

I felt like I’d been punched in the gut, but there was no way she could have known what I was planning. It was that whole Elizabeth Gilbert “Big Magic” fleeting inspiration thing. It had left me and gone to her.

For a long time, I set the project aside. Maybe my mojo was gone, maybe fear that my program wouldn’t compare to hers crept in, maybe I just got overwhelmed, I’m still not sure. All I know is that I let this project collect dust for a year.

Back to the present – I used this retreat as a way to reconnect with this project and to rekindle the passion that I had once felt for it. I still believe this course is important because I want to help people, specifically women. I want to give women freedom in their careers. To give them control over how they live their lives. To work towards their own dreams and not someone else’s. To give them the flexibility in their schedules that is so appealing to my generation.

I know deep down that this work is important – both to my community and to me. There are people out there who NEED me to write this course. Other people may have developed Virtual Assistant trainings, but none of those people are me. Only I can share the way I make this work, my stories, and use my words to encourage and uplift people in my own way.

And now that things have finally been set in motion, I’m looking for some beta testers to go through this course with me and make sure it’s ready to go for the big launch in October!

Grab more details about the beta program here!

I’m so thrilled to be offering this and if it’s something you’ve been thinking about, I highly encourage you to jump on this opportunity and join me!

  1. So pleased that you’re pushing through and finally doing it! Looking forward to seeing it released 🙂

  2. Wow… I was touched by your mission. This is exactly why I first started VENNDY.com, to help, women, who their life changes the moment they become mothers. If they only have the flexibility to work on their terms and continue to earn some money until they can go back to work, it would be great. Thank you for sharing and good luck:-)
